ARRIVAL ON GUANAJA ISLAND WHAT TO EXPECT

Upon arrival to the Guanaja Airport retrieve your carry-on bags and proceed to the terminal where an End of the World Representative will greet you.  Keep a couple dollars handy to tip the baggage handler that is transporting your bag only.  There are many helpers, and it isn’t necessary to tip each one. Keep any items that must remain dry in a dry bag or waterproof protector such as camera gear, computers other electronics etc. Sometimes there may be wind, rain or seas that can soak gear.

WHILE YOU ARE HERE:  MONEY AND EXPENSES

Once on Guanaja and at the End of the World you will operate on a cash only basis. The End of the World does not accept credit cards on the premises. US Dollars and Honduran Lempiras are readily accepted as most businesses accept cash only. There may be only one or two stores that accept credit cards and there is only one (1) ATM on the island if the system is up and running. Bring enough cash for activities such as Diving, Fishing, boat excursions, bar expenses, tips, Diving and fishing equipment rentals, souvenirs, t-shirts, hats and restaurants.

WHAT TO PACK

What we call our “TROPICAL ISLAND SURVIVAL KIT” is basic gear for this geographical area. Some suggested items include but not limited too……

Shorts, sandals, sunscreen, hats, sunglasses (polarized if possible), bathing suits, personal dive gear and personal fishing gear, bug spray (Off & Deep Woods are great), lightweight fast drying long pants, long sleeve shirts and hiking shoes if you are interested in participating in our hiking and adventure excursions, camera, batteries, flashlight, passport, cash, medication if any taken and booties for anglers.

DO YOU HAVE LAUNDRY SERVICE?

Yes. We have a laundry service and can clean clothes upon request.

Large load $15   Small- Medium loads $10 

DO YOU HAVE INTERNET?  CELL SERVICE?  TV?

Yes, we offer satellite and fiver optics, internet service to guests. Most areas of the resort have service however cloudy weather, and heavy usage can cut or slow down signals.  Good for basic internet use and email. Good for basic and internet use

 

SUGGESTED TIPPING GUIDELINES:

We suggest approximately a $25 per day per angler and diver, for an extraordinary experience you may wish to increase the tip. We employ the best Divemasters and guides on Guanaja. Your time spent with them will hone your skills and supply ample memories from your adventure.

Our hotel staff strives to deliver guests with the best possible experience.  Always ready and eager to lend a hand, answer questions, deliver on special requests and give encouragement during your stay with us. Our staff is small. We suggest approximately $50 per person kitchen/Hotel staff for a week’s stay. 

WHAT IS THE DAILY SCHEDULE?

We begin the day with a complete breakfast around 7:30am.  Island style breakfasts consisting of eggs, meats, beans, handmade tortillas, juices, Honduran coffee, and fruits.  Anglers head out approximately 8:00am and the divers around 8:30 am.  For the Anglers we pack drinks and lunches in coolers. You may stop over on a pristine beach to eat and or your guide may take you to a local restaurant for lunch if you would like to try out different island dishes.  Divers return to the resort around noon for lunch when diving on the North side. If diving on the South side reefs, the boat may return around 1:00pm or if interested try one of the local restaurant’s on Bonacca cay.  At 5:00pm we prepare for dinner and serve between 5:30 pm and 6:00pm.  We post meals ahead of time on the board located in the Clubhouse/ Bar. Dinners we offer at least two different options. If there is a meal you do not want, please let the cook know after lunch so then can prepare soothing else for you. The End of the World has a full service bar with some of the World’s best TIKI drinks.

Guests with all-inclusive Dive or Vacationer packages have a limited open bar selection available every day during their stay. For those who do not have an all-inclusive Dive or Vacationer package the bar is a cash bar.

 IS THE FOOD INCLUDED?

All-inclusive Dive and Vacationer packages include meals, Breakfast, lunch and dinner.  This will depend on your arrival and departure times to the Resort. If during your stay, you wish to dine at another restaurant that’s ok but the payment for it is not covered by the End of the World Resort.  The tiki bar also has a menu which is a cash menu that guests may order from at any time apart from the scheduled meals.

ARE THE COCKTAILS AND BEER INCLUDED?

Limited quantities of local beer (3 per day), well drinks including rum, gin, tequila, and vodka (2 per day)). Premium liquors and call drinks are available for additional cost.  One special DRINK OF THE DAY is also included.

SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTS:

Please let us know when confirming your booking if you have any special diet or dietary restrictions, we aim to please.

WELCOME GUEST BOOK:

There is a welcome guest book located in each guest room. Included is information about the hotel, bar, restaurant, menus, tours and excursions, rates and general. If you have questions about anything at all please don’t hesitate to let our staff of me personally so we can ensure you the best vacation experience possible.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

US and Canadian citizens do not need a travel visa to Honduras.  Passports require a minimum of 6 months validity to enter Honduras. Citizens of other counties please consult your local Honduran consulate for information. All travelers require proof of Covid-19 vaccination (2) two doses OR a PRC COVID-19 test with negative results no more than 72 hours prior to arrival in Honduras and Guanaja. Luggage non excess of 40lbs per person is included standard in your connection flight ticket price. You can however bring pretty much whatever you need within reason and pay the difference in weight at the check in counter. If you have questions, please contact our office.
