Our island is virtually surrounded by a barrier reef with many of the best dive sites very close proximity to the shoreline. The majority being less than a 10-minute boat ride from our dock. The many moored dive sites dot the best diving reefs providing ample opportunities to dive shallow & deep reefs, caves, canyons, underwater volcanic vents and walls that plummet from a mere 20’ to more than a rapturous 1000’! Visibility is normally 80’+ feet and peaking at 100’+. During the rainy season visibility can be less at times.
Our Divers get the chance to experience exciting shark dives, frequent encounters with eagle rays, turtles, sting rays, moray eels, hundreds of tropical fish species, octopus, lobsters and Caribbean King crabs. Vibrant coral formations, large sponges, and aquatic plant life are abundant and thriving in our local waters. Diving Guanaja presents great subject matter for photographers (bring your Go Pro equipment if you’ve got it)
Night Diving is one of our specialties. A bioluminescence rarity can be observed that is seldom witnessed by divers. An array of sea planktons, small fish and invertebrates celebrate the setting sun by producing eerie green light under water. This organic light generation attracts oddities of fish and nocturnal sea creatures hovering close by. Basket Starfish are abundant and anxiously feeding in the early minutes as the waters darken. We make one special night dive from the boat during the week. Other nights it’s possible for our divers to make night beach dives right from our dock to offshore reefs which are located approximately 50 yards from the water’s edge.
Scuba diving tourism on Guanaja is quite small compared to the rest of the Caribbean islands including Utila and Roatan. Extensive reef damage resulting from excessive diver impact is commonplace to many of these popular Scuba diving destinations. It’s non- existent here. Our boats only take 4-8 divers. More remote and less visited = better opportunities to see what the Caribbean looked like many years ago today.
Guanaja’s reefs are continually voted #1 the most fish life year after year. For divers who want to enjoy more than the typically diver destination, The End of the World Resort is the dive experience of a lifetime!

For a 7-night all-inclusive Dive vacation package we typically make 2 boat dives per day for 5-6 days and 1 night dive during the week. This is a total of 11-13 boat dives. If divers wish to make as many beaches dives day and night as you want! Unlimited. Additional boat dives are available for $60 per person per dive.

SCUBA DIVING (NON GUEST DIVERS)
The End of the World Resort welcomes and eagerly encourages everyone to participate in extra diving activities with us. Scuba divers not taking certification courses with one of our instructors will need to verify certification status with a valid accredited scuba certification agency with a certification Card. RESORT DIVERS (Scuba Experience) do not need to show any certification.
